Pianist Dave Brubeck has one of the most storied careers in all of Jazz history, being one of the first artists to tour the college circuit, appear at most major International jazz and music festivals, and was the first jazz artist pictured on the cover of Time magazine (1954). "Time Out" with the Dave Brubeck Quartet feat. Paul Desmond (1959) became the first jazz recording to sell a million copies. After composing, performing, recording and touring in almost every conceivable genre and region, Dave Brubeck was awarded the National Medal of the Arts by President Clinton, designated an NEA Jazz Master in 2000, and just last year honored at the Kennedy Center by President Obama.
Dave Brubeck Quartet features Bobby Militello, saxes and flute, Michael Moore, bass, and Randy Jones, drums. We welcome them back to Tarrytown Music Hall on such an auspicious occasion!
